Epicenter Music Festival: Only the Beginning!

Epicenter Music Festival

From the man that brought hard rock/metal music lovers such festivals as Welcome To Rockville, Rock on the Range, Chicago Open Air, Sonic Temple Art + Music Festival, Hometown Rising, (even) Bourbon & Beyond, Aftershock, Louder Than Life, Fort Rock, Northern Invasion, and Carolina Rebellion has a little surprise in store for you. From the ashes of the now defunct Carolina Rebellion comes a behemoth of a lineup for the inaugural year of the Epicenter Music Festival. This May 10-12th, 2019 in Rockingham, North Carolina (fitting name don’t you think?) the Epicenter Music Festival will make its grand debut with a big three consisting of some of the most iconic names in the modern rock era: Korn (Friday), Tool (Saturday), and Foo Fighters (Sunday).

And to make this festival even better, it was announced that all headliners have the ability to play as long as they want with no set curfew. But that is not the only thing worth mentioning about this new festival and the night life. According to the festival promoter Danny Wimmer, “When the main festival shuts down for the night, what we are calling Rockingham Village will just be starting up, and the party will go long as the people want to party.” Wimmer adds that they are looking to add comedy stages and other various late night entertainment for the night owl festival goer. Did I mention that this festival also has camping? Yep. So no worries about having to drive home after having a late night partying listening to some of your favorite bands.

Let’s delve into some of this juicy lineup, shall we? On Friday, some big names on the lineup are Korn, Rob Zombie, The Crystal Method, Meshuggah, Machine Gun Kelly, Mark Lanegan Band, Evanescence, Beartooth, Black Pistol Fire, and Knocked Loose. Plus there are more to be determined at a later date for Friday. On Saturday, Tool, Judas Priest, The Cult, Black Label Society, and High on Fire round out my top picks. But they still have Bush, Circa Survive, Yelawolf, Motionless in White, The Damned Things and Memphis May Fire to name a few on the schedule for Saturday. Then on the final day you get not only a wicked set to close out by the mighty Foo Fighters! But also Mastodon, 311, Live, Tom Morello, and Reignwolf who round out my daily picks. But wait there are still more major bands playing like Bring Me the Horizon, Killswitch Engage, Architects, Fever 333, Yungblud, The Glorious Sons, While She Sleeps, and Boston Manor. Now that we talked about who you will be listening to at Epicenter Music Festival, it is time to discuss something that we all need to do while we are at the festival: Eat and drink! Yes there will be plenty of food vendors from all over but at the time of press, there were no names given. Heavy Tiki, Rockingham Village, FXCK Cancer, Take Me Home, F.Y.E. Fan experience, Caduceus Wine Garden (delicious wine made from the vineyards of Maynard James Keenan from Tool, A Perfect Circle, and Puscifer fame), and an excellent craft beer bar are all expected to be on-site during the festival weekend. You can follow this link to the Epicenter Music Festival “Food, Drink, & More” webpage to check it out for yourself. Here is a handy link to the information section for the Epicenter Music Festival. Just in case you have any questions! Want to go ahead and score tickets for this festival? They have V.I.P. packages for the weekend, GA 3-day weekend, and daily tickets on sale now. Edit: This article has been edited to add The Crystal Method after the tragic passing of The Prodigy’s Keith Flint. Rest in Peace, Keith. You will be missed!
