The Killed and Born Again Tour: Bad Omens, Oh, Sleeper, Thousand Below and Bloodline

The Killed and Born Again tour has been making its way across North America. Featuring Bad Omens, Oh, Sleeper, Thousand Below and Bloodline, the tour is a metalcore and post hardcore tour de force and it recently made a stop in Atlanta to a sold out Masquerade (Purgatory.) ConcertHopper was on hand to mingle with the masses and bring you our perspective on the affair.

First to take the stage were Bloodline who hail from Dallas, Texas and were one of two bands on the tour from Texas. The band certainly had a presence that was as infectious as their tunes. Playing to the packed house the band was all smiles as they whipped the crowd into a frenzy playing songs from their catalog including tracks off of their new album Who Knew.

Southern California genre-benders Thousand Below were next to take the stage. As a band who so heavily invests in the concept of eliciting emotion from their listeners through their music, they most certainly did not disappoint with their live performance. Vocalist James DeBerg often leaned out into the crowd, offering up the microphone for the fans to join in a sing along to the bands deep and often sad lyrics. All of this is set to an amazingly diverse sonic backdrop that afforded an incredible musical experience.

The second Texas band on the tour, Oh, Sleeper was next to take the stage. With an extensive history of playing in Atlanta, the band was quick to let the crowd know that they expected a raucous affair for the rest of the evening to which the crowd was happy to oblige. Formed in 2006, the band has an extensive catalog of music to draw from and they snaked their way through their history to the delight of those in attendance. All of this was also accompanied by their impressive light show which made for an incredible encounter.

Finally it was time for the Richmond, Virginia based headliners, Bad Omens to take the stage. The band, which often draws comparisons to the heavier era of Bring Me the Horizon which they list as one of their musical influences along with other giants like Linkin Park, Deftones, and Slipknot to name a few. The band has not been without its share of controversy, having dropped off of the Misery Will Find You Tour featuring The Amity Affliction and Senses Fail because their “logo was too small” on the promotional content. All of this didn’t seem to deter the band though as they made a parody shirt honoring the drama and, they were playing to a sold out crowd after all.

Clearly the crowd was prepared for the onslaught that was the band’s set as there was plenty of moshing and circle pit action to be found. All of this was set to the band’s often heavy but perpetually relatable musical content which often revolves around issues like mental health and struggles with addiction.
