To The Moon Tour: Cherub w/ Michal Menert & Sessy.
While Cherub is currently on their To The Moon! Tour (with special guest Michal Menert), I managed to catch their tour stop at The Eastern last weekend. If you are familiar with Concerthopper, then you know Cherub is a fan favorite around these parts. Cherub (Jordan Kelley & Jason Huber) is an electro-indie duo from Nashville, TN. that formed back in 2010. After first catching Cherub, I told myself that this band would always stay on my radar when they came back into town. Every show with Cherub is a party from start to finish, so you have been warned if you manage to catch them on this tour.
You better bring your dancing shoes! This incredible set list proves it.

Michal Menert is an electronic music producer, founder of Super Best Records and according to Cherub, he was an integral part in the creation of the song, “Doses and Mimosas” by Cherub. Like Cherub said, “do the math”. Michal was a perfect artist to have right before Cherub took the stage with his eclectic and animated set that even sampled Norman Greenbaum’s classic hit, “Spirit in the Sky”. Sessy (Tyler Walker) is a Nashville, TN. native who formerly went by the name Meth Dad. Sessy was second on the bill and set the bar high with an exuberant and fiery set that kept everyone enthralled from start to finish. According to his bio, Sessy is “…a party starter, a booty shaker, a smile maker”. I can speak from firsthand account that this is an accurate statement.
