The 69 Eyes with Wednesday 13, Nocturnal Affair, The Crowned, and Sumo Cyco

The Masquerade, known for a variety of musical performances making their way to play the venue, prepared for a night of gothic mayhem as veteran Finnish rockers The 69 Eyes brought their tour to town. Along for the tour also was Wednesday 13, and Sumo Cyco. ConcertHopper was on hand for the theatrics and here are our thoughts.

Canadian rockers, Sumo Cyco were the first to take the stage. Concerthopper was able to witnesses Sumo Cyco while they were the opening support while on the Jinjer tour. This band has high energy and makes for an outstanding live performance, this show being no exception. Vocalist Skye Sweetnam brought her trademark presence to wow the fans and the band put on an outstanding show to warm up the crowd.

Finally, darkness descended on the venue as the stage was set for the crowd to be introduced to the theatrics of Wednesday 13. Taking queues from their grand rock predecessors like Alice Cooper, Kiss and Rob Zombie, this concert was nothing short of an all out show. Frontman Joseph Poole, formerly of Murderdolls brings a sense of horror and suspense to the stage. This show was certainly no exception as the trademark imagery was there, meat hooks and devil masks with pitchforks with some new twists thrown our way like copious amounts of rubber worms that were drenched in Wednesday 13’s neon “blood” before dropped into his mouth and then launched into the crowd. It was truly a sight to behold.

At last, it was time for the gothic rock legends themselves, The 69 Eyes were set to treat the crowd to their spectacle of a performance. Having been formed over 30 years ago in 1989, the band has been a mainstay in the genre ever since. Having released 13 albums since their inception, the group had a long catalog of songs to pull from and they brought a great selection from their history for the show. The Finnish legends did not disappoint as they blasted out their anthems to the excited masses,

The tour continues for just one more show, if you missed any of these acts this time around do look for them in the future as they are not to be missed:
