Dinosaur, Jr.

Dinosaur, Jr. is an alternative rock/indie rock/noise rock band from Amherst, Massachusetts that was formed back in 1984 by J. Mascis (guitar/vocals), Lou Barlow (bass/vocals), and Murph (drums). Since their inception, they have released twelve (12) LPs including their latest, Sweep It Into Space. For me, Dinosaur, Jr. has been a band that I stuck with as a teen and never looked back. Their unique alt rock/noise rock sound captivated me over the years, and I am honored to have been a part of this epic night at The Masquerade. For this night’s tour stop, the band chose a wide array of their music that spans over their discography. Check out the set list from this night below:

They are currently sold out of the standard black vinyl in their store. This strikes me a bit odd because normally the Limited-Edition version is always sold out before the standard black version. Or check out their latest digital album, Emptiness at The Sinclair, which was released September 10th, 2021. If you are interested in learning more about Dinosaur, Jr., or J. Mascis, I highly suggest checking out Witch which is J. Mascis first band in which he plays the drums. Witch released two (2) incredible LPs, Witch (2006) and Paralyzed (2008) that I still play in my rotation when I am in that doom metal/stoner metal/psychedelic rock mood. Ryley Walker

Ryley Walker was brought on the road to be the opening support for Dinosaur, Jr. on this tour. Ryley is a singer-songwriter/guitarist from Rockford, Illinois who can be best described as indie folk/blues/psychedelic rock/blues rock. He has released eleven (11) LPs and three (3) EPs with Course in Fable being his latest LP off Husky Pants Records (2021). I did not know what to expect from a live show featuring Ryley, but I can safely say that I was not disappointed whatsoever. His charismatic style comes to life through his lyrics and music.
