Drink It In and Drink It Up at the 2022 North Carolina Brewers and Music Festival.

Peanut butter and jelly, coffee and cream, Widespread Panic and marijuana. Some things just naturally go together. One of those is certainly roots music and beer. If you're a fan of both of those, you may want to make a trip to Huntersville, NC, just outside of Charlotte, on May 6-7 for the North Carolina Brewers and Music Festival.

While it's a much smaller fest than a Bonnaroo or Coachella, the lineup of eight acts scheduled to play is stacked with roots festival mainstays and rising stars. The smaller lineup of bands also allows for longer sets, with every act getting at least an hour and the headliners 90 minutes. Heading up the two days of the North Carolina Brewers and Music Festival are The Larry Keel Experience on Friday night and The Steeldrivers on Saturday.

For those unfamiliar with Larry Keel, he's a prolific songwriter and collaborator who has worked with the likes of Del McCoury, Billy Strings, Sam Bush, and Keller Williams. He's also become a regular at jam and jamgrass-oriented festivals. Friday night will give fans two doses of Keel as his Larry Keel Experience plays a set of their own songs and closes the night with Larry Plays Jerry, a tribute to late Grateful Dead founder Jerry Garcia.

Saturday's headliners, The Steeldrivers. Active on the festival scene since 2005, the band has seen a number of lineup changes, the most impactful being the loss of co-founder Chris Stapleton and the recent loss of vocalist Gary Nichols, but has continued to refine and hone their sound to fit their present lineup while maintaining the core soulful bluegrass fusion that has made them so popular.

Other artists performing include festival regulars Acoustic Syndicate and Arlo McKinley and rising Americana stars Jade Bird and Katie Pruitt. You can see the full lineup with bios here.

But of course, that's only half the draw. There's also the brewers. While the lineup of brewers has yet to be announced, North Carolina has one of the most vibrant craft brewing scenes in the nation and neighboring Georgia and Tennessee also have some great regional options. The festival promises over 50 brewers onhand so you're sure to find your favorite style represented.

Ticket options are available to fit anyone's availability with Friday tickets at $15, Saturday music only tickets at $28, and a festival and tasting option at $45. A variety of camping options, from tent to RV, are also available.
