One Hit Wonder Tour: Attack Attack!

Buffalo’s Rec Room was buzzing this past Tuesday, August 19th, as Attack Attack! rolled through town on their One Hit Wonder Tour. The talented lineup featured opening acts Savage Hands and Versus Me. For a Tuesday night, the Rec Room had quite the gathering early on in the night. As the show opened, fans filtered from the merch table upstairs to claim their spots near the front of the stage. The venue provided an intimate atmosphere for the night’s show, complemented by excellent food options and cocktails. For fans who didn’t want to stand, booths lined the walls, allowing them to enjoy the show from the side. For a band that’s been at the center of electronicore since the late 2000s, they proved they still know how to bring a live show that’s equal parts nostalgia trip and high-voltage chaos.

Versus Me was first up on the lineup. James Milbrandt wasted no time in pulling the crowd in closer and getting them to move. Their sound is a perfect mix of metalcore and electronicore, with harsh vocals and hard-hitting notes. The band formed in 2014 and has grown in popularity since. With two albums under their belt, Changes and Continuous, it was easy to see why this band made such a good addition to the tour. Some of their hits include “ Down”, “ Terrified”, and “ Blackout”. Even with a shorter set time, Versus Me got the night going and the fans raging.

Next to take the stage was Savage Hands. Formed in Waldorf, MD, their hard rock, post-hardcore sound was definitely a great addition to this tour. Mikey Garrow donned an upside-down Foxy trucker hat as he took the mic. The energy was on point as the band gave it their all to the crowd.. The emotion and passion that poured into the lyrics were something to make you stop and really listen. The crowd seemed enamored with Garrow’s constant connection to them, and more people filtered onto the Rec Room’s floor. Savage Hands’ hard-hitting energy comes from some of their top songs, including “Demon”, “Love No More,” and “Washed Away.” The small mosh pit that formed in the front proved that people were feeling this energy.

From the moment the lights dimmed and the fog machines kicked in, the energy became undeniable. Two massive, glowing A’s framed the stage, making it impossible to forget exactly who we were here for. The crowd responded instantly— voices screamed along, and phones lit the air as fans tried to capture their own shots of the show. Musically, Attack Attack! delivered exactly what they’re known for: a wild mix of heavy post-hardcore breakdowns and danceable electronic hooks. One moment you’re headbanging, the next you’re bouncing to a beat drop straight out of a rave. The push and pull between emo vulnerability and electronic euphoria felt tailor-made for a venue like Rec Room, where intimacy amps up the intensity. The band danced between songs, playing favorites such as “ Dance”, “A for Andrew”, and “Stick Stickly”; it wasn’t just the sound—it was the atmosphere. For longtime fans, it was a reminder of why Attack Attack! carved out their own corner of the scene. The age range of fans made for a fun and exciting party. For newer faces in the crowd, it was an initiation into a band that thrives on being unpredictable and fun as hell.

Buffalo showed up, and Attack Attack! showed out. If the One Hit Wonder Tour is coming through your city, don’t sleep on it—this is the kind of show you won’t want to miss! Make sure to head over to Attack Attack! and grab your tickets to a town near you!
