Shovels & Ropes at Rhythm & Brews on March 2,2014 was one of the best shows I've ever had the chance to see in Chattanooga. That was nearly 5 months ago so I little hazy on what exactly made me fall in love with the duo that night. Maybe their energetic performance or their killer harmonies or the fact that they can write a damn good Folk song? I don't know, but they were so damn good and I LOVED every minute of it.  And I almost missed it. Yep, for some reason, I had thought I had already purchased my ticket when I first noticed the show somewhere on the interwebs. I usually don't procrastinate when it comes to ticket buying; Facebook probably distracted me. When it was announced that the show was sold out, I went to double check my receipts folder in my email. It was then that I realized that I had not. I was heartbroken. Luckily, I was put in touch with someone who needed to sell her ticket and the day was saved. I was front and center that night parked against Rhythm & Brews stage.

Originally the opener for the night, Hurray for the Riff Raff was my main reason for going, I was only vaguely familiar with Shovels & Rope but had known with Hurray for the Riff Raff opening of course the night's headliner would be amazing as well.  Apparently I had been late on my discovery because both bands made a point to mention they had played in Chattanooga before at JJ's Bohemia. My concert hopping game wasn't on point until about a year ago. Anyway both bands are amazing. Don't pass up an opportunity to see them or you will develop a severe case of FOMO (Fear of Missing Out).

Download the sample of their newest album, Swimmin' Time from Noisetrade.com. Catch them on this tour and be sure you actually pre-purchase ticket, okay.
