My Birthday Weekend

Thursday, December 4th was my 27th birthday. The day began with cupcakes for breakfast. http://instagram.com/p/wMBJFgPNTT/?modal=true

Of course, I had to celebrate that night with live music. I met up with Nikki, her husband, Noah and Holly at Track 29 to see Bone Thugs n Harmony. Nikki gave me nail polish, and she somehow found three colors I don’t already have. Holly gifted me a The Basement Tapes CD. Re-listen it, and then check out Lost on the River: The New Basement Tapes (Deluxe Edition) featuring Elvis Costello, Rhiannon Giddens (Carolina Chocolate Drops) Taylor Goldsmith (Dawes), Jim James (My Morning Jacket), Marcus Mumford (Mumford & Sons). Good stuff.

I also started the 1 Second Everyday video project on my birthday. Spoiler alert: my first second comes from the Bone Thugs n Harmony performance. Download 1 Second Everyday to your smart phone and you can start your video on January 1st.

Yesterday my Dad and my sister, Sarah came up to spend the afternoon with me. Dad gave me Bose speakers for my laptop and a Roku. With the Roku, I have apps on my TV again for Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hulu. If you could share your TV shows, movies and documentary suggestions in the comments, that would be much appreciated.

I continued my celebration last night at Rhythm & Brews with Pigeons Playing Ping Pong and Soul Mechanic.

Last night turned out to be a fun little Fly Free Fest family reunion. It was great to hug, high five, dance with my festy besties.

Thank you to everyone who made my birthday special. I’m off to binge on Orange is the New Black, hummus and corn chips.
